I lead research exploring how virtual reality and emerging technologies can improve people’s lives.

My work focuses on exploring VR applications in aged care, palliative care, and for supporting people with intellectual disabilities. I also aim to create effective training environments using AI and VR for healthcare staff, educators, and students, helping them develop skills in controlled, immersive settings.

Whilst emerging technologies offer exciting possibilities for improving training and enhancing lives, I’m committed to understanding their safe and responsible use. Just because something can be done in VR doesn’t mean it should be - my research seeks to determine when immersive technologies genuinely add value over traditional approaches.

I believe that the most impactful research happens when we cross disciplinary boundaries and work directly with the communities we aim to serve.
